Since Taylor and I stayed in Seville this weekend, we took a lot of adventures around town. One morning we went to the park to ride this cool two person bike! It was nice to ride, and not walk somewhere, around the park and just get to where we wanted to go a little faster. The bike is actually harder to pedal than it looks!
After that we went to the Torre del Oro. This is a monument we meet at all the time but we have never gone inside because it has weird hours. So we finally got to see the inside! Back in the day, the Torre del Oro was the “customs” for boats leaving and entering the Mediterranean/Spain. Seville was the place where all the boats had to go through. This was really mainly after America was found. First we climbed some stairs to get the first floor. That floor had a bunch of military items in it and different pictures of important military people. Then after 91 stairs, we were at the top of the Torre. It was a cool look out to the city and we took some cool pictures.
We also went to this place called the Metropol Parasol. Some people say it looks like a huge waffle fry. It actually just opened this year. It has a market, a museum, restaurants, and an elevated plaza. It is a modern icon for Seville and the largest wooden structure in the world. Its goal is to activate the plaza and to be an attractive destination for all people to go and have a good time. It was really neat to see. Supposedly people can walk on the top of it but we couldn’t the day we went because they were doing some work on it.
Enjoy!
